Bergen, Norway's second city, is the gateway to the western fjords — reached most elegantly by private jet in fifty minutes (the road journey across the mountains takes seven hours). The UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf, with its leaning Hanseatic merchant houses, anchors a harbour ringed by seven mountains. FFGR Norway coordinates the funicular ascent of Mount Fløyen, private boat departures to the Nærøyfjord and Hardangerfjord, dinner at Lysverket or Bare, and onward helicopter transfers to the Sognefjord lodges.
