Flåm sits at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, an inner arm of the Sognefjord — Norway's longest and deepest. It is the terminus of the Flåm Railway, one of the world's most spectacular rail journeys, climbing through twenty tunnels and past the Kjosfossen waterfall.
