Flåm
The railway through the Aurlandsfjord, arm of the Sognefjord.
— Trajet —
4 h scenic · or jet to Bergen
Flåm sits at the head of the Aurlandsfjord, an inner arm of the Sognefjord — Norway's longest and deepest. It is the terminus of the Flåm Railway, one of the world's most spectacular rail journeys, climbing through twenty tunnels and past the Kjosfossen waterfall. FFGR Norway combines a chauffeured arrival over the Aurlandsfjellet 'Snow Road' with private rail compartments, fjord cruises through the narrow Nærøyfjord (UNESCO), and stays at the design-led Fretheim or the cliffside Aurland lodges. The Stegastein viewpoint, cantilevered over the fjord, is a quiet highlight reached by chauffeur before the day's crowds.
